One may not underestimate Horikawa's influence on the Avant-Garde fashion scene. His fashion label, founded in Tokyo in 2001 as a means of presenting film projects, the Julius label eventually developed its clothing line in 2004. Using black and grey as the main components of every collection, the label centers around Horikawa's love of art and architecture, which were integral to the brand's initial formation as an art project. As the designer says himself black was always the base of his creative palette and it symbolizes the Avant-Garde and has a deeply spiritual and noble meaning for him. Horikawa is obsessed with the image of "Black" in the Japanese Religion, Zen. It represents the crazy darkness hidden in the shadows away from the light. It is the total color of complete and utter grief.

Black, asymmetrical, slim-fitting blazer. It features two buttons to close it, as well as two pockets on the front and on the inside of the blazer. Unique undulating material which is a blend of rayon, cotton, and metal, gives the piece a nice shine when looked at under the right lighting.
