Since his teenage years, Miyashita spent most of the money he earned on clothes, because of the work, spending most of his time in bustling Harajuku, which, at that time, was a hub for the best dressed teenagers. He taught himself the art of designing clothes by himself from scratch, as well as reinterpreting and distressing his own wardrobe.

Item comes from 2002 spring summer collection called "Modern Age". T-shirt is parodying iconic "I LOVE NY" graphic, designed by Milton Glaser in 1977.
