Helmut Lang is an Austrian designer born in 1956. He established the brand under his own name in 1986 in Paris, but he retired from fashion in 2005 with an intention of focusing on his art projects. Helmut Lang as a brand envisions a minimalistic aesthetic and utilitarian approach to fashion design. Brand's silhouettes tend to be androgynous and donned with various forms of ribbons and straps.
